The Four Pound(s) Pups

Literally – the four pounds pups are each weighing a bit over 4 pounds, and they come from the pound where they ended up after being dumped. They all have playful personalities and boundless energy and they are happy puppies. We are not certain of the exact age, but it is estimated to be around 6 weeks, suggesting they are in the crucial early stages of development where socialization and training are essential. Additionally, they seem to be a small-ish breed, perfect for families looking for a compact companion. As a comparison, they are noticeably smaller (and lighter) than the 4-week Phatties, making them an ideal choice for those who may prefer a petite pet with an equally huge heart.

Casper is the biggest and boldest of them all, a very friendly and outgoing puppy:

Milo is the smallest, looking incredibly fragile, yet carries the heart of a lion—a little lion:

Buddy is friendly and sensitive, a thoughtful pup. He will be with us a little longer as we need to check on a heart murmur that he is supposed to outgrow in few weeks:

Patricia, the only girlie, is very sweet and calm:

Note: all four puppies are still in the socialization period and we decided to keep them together for 2 more weeks and socialize with JDC K9 pack and the other puppies on site. We also want to monitor their development and make sure they gain weight as they should. They will be available for adoption shortly, when they will be around 8 weeks of age.

    Good morning

We saw your post about the Four Pounds Pups and we instantly fell in love with them, especially little Patricia, and we would love to be considered to give her her forever home.

We completely understand that the puppies aren’t ready for adoption yet, but we’d love to express our interest and be considered when the time comes.

We’re a family of four living in Hamilton — my husband, our two children (5 and 8), and me. I am a teacher, amd my husband works as a heavy machine operator

We’re a calm, caring family who love going for walks, spending time outdoors, and being together. Our children are calm, gentle and a little on the quiet side, and we feel that a calm but playful puppy like Patricia would be such a lovely match for them.

We moved to New Zealand three years ago and have always dreamed of getting a puppy once we were properly settled. Now that we finally have our residency, it feels like the right time to welcome one into our home.

We’ve chosen to adopt rather than buy from a breeder because we want to give a rescue pup a safe, happy, and loving life.

We’d be really grateful if you could let us know what the next steps are once the pups are ready for adoption. We’re happy to provide more information about our family if needed.Thank you for the wonderful work you do and for giving these pups such a great start. It really shows how much you care.

    Warm regards,

    Madeleine Botha
