Matching Dogs with Families: The Role of Volhard PAT Scores

At JDC Rescue, we take all opportunities to thoroughly test our rescues using the Volhard PAT Score system, which allows us to assess various behavioral traits in a structured manner. While we are unable to perform this comprehensive test on older rescues due to their established personalities and previous experience, we still use the main criteria as a valuable guide, which helps us gain insight into the dog’s abilities, temperament, and potential for future training and placement. By conducting these evaluations, we aim to ensure that each dog is matched with the right family or individual, fostering lasting bonds and successful adoptions. Additionally, this approach allows us to identify any specific needs or challenges the dog may face, ensuring they receive appropriate support throughout their transition into a new home.

Each dog’s score file is available to the owner on request.
