Cooper is a gorgeous young Border Collie x with a playful and loving personality. A happy-go-lucky boy, he’s quickly becoming one of our favorites at JDC Rescue. Despite being a pound dog who was abandoned in a remote area, his loving nature hasn’t changed a bit. He adores people and car rides, bonded with Olive right away and gets along with all the other dogs. He’s very smart, enjoys playing in the run with other dogs, and is just as content relaxing in his crate. Always seeking human connection, he walks off leash right beside his handler, flashing a big smile (and making the funny faces you can see in the last photos below, which always make us laugh as much as we try not to !). With his stunning red-and-white coat, great grin, and excellent health, Cooper is an exceptional boy who will make a wonderful family member and bring plenty of happiness, joy and laughter to his new home!
Cooper is around 6 months old, and will be vaccinated and microchipped, with NZCAR lifetime registration that will be transferred to the owner. He will have a very comprehensive vet check this week and also a 60 days free health insurance from adoption date. Cooper is about the size of a Border Collie, with a short coat and those piercing, intelligent eyes typical of the breed.
We’re already so attached to this boy, and we want him to have an amazing home where he’ll be deeply loved and treated as a true member of the family. If you are his humans, please send us an adoption inquiry ( Adoption inquiry – JDC Rescue) and we will schedule a time to come meet Cooper! We adopt nationwide, provided that the owner can travel. We don’t test our rescue dogs with cats, bunnies, pigs etc. For most questions, please see the FAQ section. We fully recommend desexing the dogs once they reach maturity (which is around the 2 years mark for most cross breeds), and ideally after a DNA test to identify any genetic issues that could be affected by the surgery.
