Support for Biggie

We have a detailed estimate for Biggie’s surgery, scheduled for January 6th at Whakatane Bay Vets (Vets for Pets).Check out our page to read Biggie’s story: two months ago, as a young puppy, she suffered catastrophic injuries at someone’s hands and was dumped in the bush near Murupara to die. Somehow, she survived so far… disabled, in horrendous pain, and severely emaciated.

The surgery will only go ahead with a 50% deposit paid on the morning of the procedure, with the remaining balance due at discharge. Biggie is in severe, unmanageable pain, and the vet’s assessment is that the only remaining options to this surgery is immediate euthanasia – or a total hip replacement that is four times more expensive. Attached are the surgery estimate (to be paid), pre-evaluation and medication costs (already paid), and X-ray images.

Biggie needs all the support she can get. She has a tough journey ahead, with surgery followed by intensive physical rehab sessions in Whakatane. But she is a survivor, she didn’t cry once, at only 9 months old—and we’re not ready to give up on her!
