The fantastic puppy crew of nine (who beat Parvo!) are enjoying their well deserved time out ![]()
For those who missed the updates, we had an outbreak in two isolated, vaccinated litters. The origins are still investigated at Massey (we provided biological samples).
We lost an entire litter of three within the first 48 hours— three three-month-old pups with two vaccines, the third due in two weeks—and a small eight-week-old pup with one vaccine. They tested positive for parvo despite showing minimal or no GI symptoms and received medical care. The vet suspects at least one case was the cardiac form, where the virus attacks the heart instead of the digestive system.
After a cross-contamination incident, the outbreak spread to a third litter of four-to-five-week-old puppies, too young for the vaccinations that were scheduled the following week. In total, 13 puppies were affected.
With vet support and supplies, as well as supplements, advice from public and a lot of love and care, we treated the remaining nine on-site, and all survived and they are now thriving—two boys and seven girls who completely beat parvo! We will present each one individually, but here there are some of these legends:
