Gizmo and her 6 babes!

Update on Gizmo – the sweet emergency rescue picked up just a few days ago while heavily pregnant: she gave birth to six healthy, chunky pups this morning! Mom and babies are doing great; she’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and proving to be a wonderful mother!

We give the mom privacy today, and will update with photos of the bubs in the coming days.

If you’d like to support this momma and her pups with milk, puppy food, or donations, contributions can be made to the charity account 38-9027-0283734-00, Jack Dog Center Limited. No amount is too small, and she needs all the help we can get for her and her babies in the next 8 weeks!!🥰

Update: Gizmo has 6 babes!!! (I thinks that’s it).

The last one’s an escape artist—within the first ten seconds of life tried to run away, lol.

Update: Five puppies!

She had some trouble removing the placenta from the head of the last one, as it was wrapped around, so I had to break it to help the little white bub breathe. The bub seems fine, and the mom cleaned the pup—it’s still ongoing. The last pup is white just like mom, the others are blue, brown and brindle. Beautiful and lively!

Please meet Gizmo – a very sweet soul, emergency rescue with a very, very sad story – and when we picked her up we were perplexed to notice that she is ALSO heavily pregnant and ready to have the puppies in the next days!!! It is way too late for spaying. And this is in addition to the sunshine neonatal puppies in a box that also came into our care!

Our wonderful volunteer David scrambled to make a quick whelping box for her, and we had an offer from a beautiful soul of beddings items to help make her comfortable. She is a petite girl, very gentle, very sweet, very grateful for each kind touch, and reminds us so much of Honey!!! We’ve been in contact with the vet for safe deworm, deflea for this stage of pregnancy. From the information we have she has been around small dogs, so we don’t expect her to have difficulties but she will be monitored 24/7 and emergency help will be called if needed.

If you wish to support her journey, given the fact that she will be with us for at least 10 weeks together with her babies, please let us know or donate to charity fund 38-9027-0283734-00, Jack Dog Center Limited. We will need milk to supplement the pup and mom, puppy food (for mom), bedding and blankets and lots of prayers!!!
